Diving

• The clear, warm waters surrounding the island of St Vincent are home to an incredible underwater world of pristine coral reefs, teeming with a magnificent abundance of colourful marine life that is second to none in the Caribbean. Dive sites are unspoilt and uncrowded, and the volcanic geography of the island means that the water is exceptionally clear for most of the year.
• Diving ranges from gentle to exhilarating, offering a selection of pretty wall diving sites, stunning drift dives and mysterious caves, caverns and wreck dives suitable for all levels of experience.
• Indigo Dive offers guided dives for all levels of ability and PADI Tuition from Discover SCUBA Diving to Dive Master.
• Divers must be certified to PADI SCUBA Diver or Open Water Diver. All SCUBA diving excursions are escorted by at least two crew and boats are NEVER left unattended whilst divers are in the water.

At the Cricket Academy, your children will be taught and inspired by an experienced coaching team to provide the ultimate in cricket training, for 2 hours each weekday morning. No previous cricket experience is required.

Luxury Boot Camp with Fitness 4

• From 21st May 2012, Buccament Bay Resort will be hosting a number of Fitness 4 Boot Camps. Through a mixture of high intensity physical training, nutritionally balanced food and personal health coaching, guests will be encouraged to reach and sustain their weight and fitness goals.
• Guests have the option of a 6, 7, 12 or 14-day programme, which will be led by two fully qualified ex-Royal Marines. They have collaborated with the Fitness 4 team to provide fun and interactive boot camps that offer a variety of activities, from land based to water based, on site and off site. Buccament Bay Resort chefs will also be designing bespoke menus exclusively for boot campers.
• In a nut shell this Boot camp is ideal for anyone of any physical level. However individuals will be identified as having either a beginner, intermediate or advanced level of fitness. The exercises given during the training programme will match the individual's circumstances and ability.
• During the Camp you won't be asked to starve yourself and you most certainly won't be put on a faddy diet. All meals, snacks and refreshments on offer will be made up of fresh natural produce that forms part of a healthy balanced low GI, high protein and Carbohydrate diet.
• Workouts will be progressive and different from one day to the next; however you can expect to find activities such as hiking through nature trails and up volcanoes to taking part in marine fitness circuits, indoor strength training sessions, outdoor cv circuits, core fitness classes, boxercsise, commando pool fit, early morning beach workouts, kayaking, snorkelling, team games and much more.
• For many of you the end of the boot camp will signal a new beginning, that is why their staff continue to offer you help and support for as long as you need it. The Nutritionists will be there to continue analysis of your food diaries for up to 2 weeks after the camp has come to an end and you will have access to their website where you can chat on the forum or ask the instructors or staff any new questions.

Guests will receive a daily group coaching schedule upon arrival into the resort. Please note that this coaching is mainly aimed at children (6+) and teenagers. There will be games outside of coaching times with both players for adults and children.

There are also plans for ex-player coaching during future school holidays with at least 1 ex-player for each week of the August school holidays in 2012, from week commencing 23rd July 2012 to 25th August 2012. Details are to be announced nearer the time.

• Buccament Bay Resort is the first of Harlequin's resorts to feature a Liverpool Football Club Soccer School.
• The Soccer School provides training and coaching programmes for both adults and children aged 5 and above in an environment where everyone is given the opportunity to play football to the best of their ability, with encouragement and training to develop the skills necessary to enjoy the game at whatever level they wish to play. Coaching sessions are interactive, challenging and fun.
• The programmes teach the fundamental techniques of the game and show players how to develop their ball skills, focussing on the tactical, physical, mental and social elements of the game.
• The coaches at the Soccer School have been trained to coach the ‘Liverpool Way’ at the Liverpool Football Club Academy in the UK and are overseen by ex-Liverpool FC player David Fairclough, Director of the Liverpool Football Club Soccer Schools in the Caribbean. Broadcaster Andy Townsend is the Director of Sports for Harlequin and oversees the Harlequin Sports Academy to ensure that the facilities and coaching are world class.
• Whilst developing players as individuals, the coaching also encourages players to work as a team both in defensive and attacking situations including positional sense, communication, handling, footwork, distribution, crosses, organisational skills, kicking, agility and flexibility.
• Harlequin allows children from local schools and football associations to use the Liverpool Football Club Soccer Schools at Buccament Bay Resort to improve the standard of football and give opportunities to talented youngsters with Liverpool Football Club to encourage education through sports as part of its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility.

Pat Cash Tennis Academy

We are pleased to announce that Pat Cash will be in resort from 2nd - 11th April 2012

• The Pat Cash Tennis Academy provides individual and group lessons for players of all ages, standards and abilities for both children and adults.
• Coaching has been developed from Pat’s many years of learning during his playing career, his analytical approach and most recently the application of his knowledge in coaching on the professional tour.
• Players of all abilities are given encouragement and training to develop the skills necessary to enjoy the game at the level they wish to play and video analysis to improve their technique.
• The Pat Cash Tennis Academy also hosts pro-celebrity tournaments throughout the year and coaching clinics by Pat and other tennis champions.
• Jeremy Bates, former professional tennis player ranked No 1 in Great Britain between 1988–1995 and winner of two Grand Slam mixed doubles titles, visited Buccament Bay Resort in February 2011 to coach guests.
• Pat Cash became Wimbledon Champion in 1987 when he defeated the World Number 1, Ivan Lendl. He is a five times Grand Slam Finalist, winner of the Davis Cup twice and a respected worldwide television commentator.
• Where there is no instruction the tennis courts are available for casual use by guests.
  

Group Coaching for Juniors

• Mini tennis is played on a smaller court using slower balls and is an excellent way for junior players to develop hand-eye co-ordination, movement, simple tactics and technique as a foundation for them to enjoy playing an all-court game.
• There are three levels of group lesson available - mini red, mini orange and mini green - defined by the area of court used, the speed of the ball and the learning experience.

The Harlequin Performing Arts Academy

• Experience the fun and excitement of Musical Theatre with the Harlequin Performing Arts Academy. No previous experience is necessary.
• Join a four day master class to experience the magic of Musical Theatre and combine the skills of acting, singing and movement – from rehearsal to a grand finale performance of songs from some of the best shows from the West End and Broadway.
• Explore your creative side in an enchanting and energetic environment in the beautiful surroundings of the Caribbean.
• Master classes are designed and run by West End and Broadway professionals from hit musicals such as Phantom of the Opera, Wicked, Hairspray and Les Misérables, giving you the chance to experience performance through vocal, acting and movement coaching by top stars in the industry.
• Harlequin Performing Arts Academy provides an insight into the making of these shows and more.
• For Adults 15+ and for children aged 10 to 14 years, classes comprise 3-hour sessions over 4 days leading to a final showcase performance at the resort.
• The Harlequin Performing Arts Academy is directed by Michael McCarthy and Stephen Hill who have worked extensively in both the West End and on Broadway.
• Their team of professional performers, choreographers and directors will make your masterclass workshop an unforgettable experience.
