Accommodation
The rooms were superb, very modern, and loved the octagonal shape, it was unusual but in a good way! I was lucky enough to be located in a preferred club ocean view with outside Jacuzzi, and it was of a very good size, and I was very impressed. Also with it being a new property, everything was really modern.
Restaurants
I found there to be a very good choice of restaurants, from the a la carte restaurants to the one buffet restaurant which is the world cafe, there was always a great choice of dishes that are sure to suit all tastes.
Entertainment
The daytime entertainment team were great, plenty of choice, again for people who enjoy sport, or their was yoga for those who were looking to keep it a little more relaxing. Also the evening entertainment program had a great choice of shows, and they love to get people involved.
Beach
Sea weed was cleared away daily, leaving a large, beautiful clean beach!
Service
Excellent! I constantly heard the comment ” my pleasure ” which was lovely to here, and they were always very pleasant.
Overall
I thought the hotel was very impressive! Also taking into consideration it had only been open 3 weeks, was amazing! I think it can definitely be recommended to couples and families. The infinity pool is very impressive, and again with it being a new hotel, I loved how everything was very modern I.e rooms , resteraunts and lobby area!

Accommodation
I was located in a Junior suite, which I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room, the Jacuzzi is of a very good size, and there is plenty of space around the room. Great amenities I.e mini bar and toiletries. I also thought the x box was a great idea (simply order room service and place your dishes in the cupboard next to your door, and they collect this daily ) .
Restaurants
Superb. The food was truly amazing breakfast, lunch and dinner. With great choices for fussy eaters too. Unfortunately I did not get to dine in the French, and I here this one is the best! But I can honestly say from what I saw of all of the restaurant the food and service was brilliant.
Entertainment
Daytime entertainment again had a variety of things to do, from sports to yoga, and the table tennis and pool came in very handy when there was bad weather. The evening entertainment I thoroughly enjoyed, and the variety of the shows was brilliant too! Beach: As before: Sea weed was cleared away daily, leaving large, beautiful clean beach!
Service
Again, I could not fault the service of the staff, they were very pleasant, and eager to be of assistance . The staff were amazing, as I walked through the doors I was welcomed home, and the staff made every effort for you to feel like you were at home.
Overall
I had heard a lot about excellence before I travelled, and everybody was was correct! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I found the food to be delicious! The service and staff were amazing and I would not think twice about returning! Comparing the 2 hotels, I would certainly say I found Dreams Riviera a great hotel, especially for a hotel that has only been open for 3 weeks, but I must say Excellence Riviera was my favorite, simply because of the food, and the service definitely has the edge, and I would definitely like to return to both hotels.
Jumbo Tours
Transfers were very prompt, and greeted by a very nice man who escorted us to our mini-bus, Alex was our rep at Dreams Riviera, and Alberto at Excellence Riviera and again these were very helpful with advise on excursions.
Excursions
Whist staying in Mexico, we decided to go into Cancun and visit Aqua World which offered a variety of watersports, jungle tours and much more! Myself and my partner chose to use the wave runners, they can be hired for 30 minutes or more which was an amazing experiance, and then afterwards we chose to use one of the new attractions which was the aqua twister, which was a hgih speed jet boat, so there is deffinatley plenty for to people who like to keep the holiday as active as possible, or as relaxing as possible!
Mexico as a destination
This was my first trip to Mexico, and it certainly wont be my last, i think as a whole it was the perfect destination for me as it was quite and relaxing on the riviera maya, but as we where only 25 minutes from Cancun, which had a variety of shopping malls, and night life, so we had the option to visit it if needed. I would certainly recomend Mexico to Families Couples, groups of friends, weddings and honeymooners! it is a beautiful place with stunning beaches and a true caribbean atmosphere.
