The Preferred Club Pool area at Secrets The VineWell, where do I start? (Way too much for a blog!)

This was a much-looked-forward-to visit to Secrets The Vine. I had seen the images of what they expected it to look like and was really hoping that it would be as stunning in reality.

My husband and I arrived in a private taxi by Jumbo Tours to a VERY impressive entrance. Upon entering the hotel we were met with a glass of champagne and a cool towel. We were then taken through the main lobby area to the Preferred Club Lounge on the 21st floor.

The main lobby at Secrets The VineThe main lobby was so impressive; it was really big and spacious and had a really grand feel about it. The design was open plan but split into areas, one of which was the lounge area with a beautiful wall fire making it very homely.

The check in at Preferred Level was very efficient and again we were offered champagne (at this rate I was going to be tipsy before even arriving in my room!) All Preferred Club Rooms start from the 21st floor.

The spectacular view at Secrets the VineOur room was very futuristic with plasma TVs on the wall and mood lighting. The walk in rainforest shower was one of the biggest I have seen in any hotel, in fact getting my husband out of it was a problem!

The views from our balcony were amazing; we could see straight up in to Cancun with the ocean on one side and the lagoon on the other. The sunrise came up on the ocean side and the sunset was the lagoon side so best of both worlds!

Then we set out to explore…

Preferred Club Pool Area

Champaaaagne at Secrets The VineThis is a beautiful area based on the 12th floor to the side of the hotel. The pool is an infinity pool with the overlook being the main pool deck and the beach. There is a bar and restaurant for Preferred Club guests so that you don’t have to go to far for anything (the concierge lady is always coming round to top up your drinks). The restaurant then becomes the Olio A La Carte for all guests in the evening.

If you are Preferred guests then please make sure that you have high factor sun lotion as this area is a sun trap.

I do feel that at this particular hotel you do get a lot more for Preferred Club and it is well worth upgrading.

Main Pool Area

One of the main pool areas at Secrets The VineThere are 3 huge main pools and a very large Jacuzzi.

The main pool area gives you a really calming and spacious feel with plenty of areas that you can eat and drink. The bottom of the main area leads directly onto a beautiful beach.

In the evenings you can have private beachfront meals or a private meal on a jetty type area over the main pools.

Restaurants & Bars

The Sea Salt Grill at Secrets The VineThere are 6 main restaurants in the evening with another 2 if you count the daytime ones.

We had the most amazing meal in the Sea Salt Grill whilst being serenaded by a fantastic sax player.

There are quite a few bars around the resort all with a very elegant feel. There is a great piano bar which has a fab atmosphere and for all the lads there is a great sports bar with pool tables.

The food in the World Café (buffet) was amazing and we couldn’t believe the choice that we had at breakfast. I think there was every single juice that I could think of along with fresh salmon cooked in about 10 different ways!!

Spa & Gym

The state of the art gym at Secrets The VineThe spa and gym are most definitely state of the art, and even though I don’t normally use the gym on holiday you couldn’t help but want to use the running machines with the views over the ocean and beach. Both the spa and gym are based on the 12th floor.

The day of our checkout we decided to sit at the Vine Café which is an amazing premium coffee shop (all included). They offer quite a few different premium coffees as well as fantastic cakes and croissants, again all included in your package.

I have to say that this hotel really is amazing. Secrets have taken it to another level.

Champaaaagne at Secrets The VineThe hotel is in a good location as well, still classed as Cancun but not right in the centre of the strip so not noisy and as it sits just off the main road there is not much passing traffic. To get into the main centre you just need to pick up the number 7 bus that runs every 2-3 minutes from the main road.

You can book tours and trips with the Concierge team either on the main lobby floor or the preferred club floor.

I really didn’t want to check out and I can’t wait to go back.
