As our impeccable Bajan hosts, Elegant Hotels whisked us away to visit all of the properties that together define their magnificent presence in Barbados. Their portfolio offers an impressive collection of hotels that effortlessly live up to their Elegant namesake and that of Barbados’ Platinum Coast, none more so than The House by Elegant Hotels. The House is a delightful adults only beachfront property that offers a timeless fusion of modernity and Caribbean charisma, a textbook location for couples seeking somewhere a bit special to slip away from the bustle of everyday life.

The House has recently earned itself an enviable array of coveted awards in recognition of its sophisticated serenity and refined yet relaxed ambiance, with the 34 suite hotel named among the Top 25 Hotels in the CaribbeanTop 25 Hotels for Romance in the Caribbean, and the Top 25 Luxury hotels in the Caribbean in TripAdvisor’s 2014 Travelers Choice Awards. It is unsurprising that The House still holds its reign as #1 in Barbados on TripAdvisor, an accolade that rightly fills Elegant Hotels with beaming pride:

“We are extremely proud of these achievements. For a small property to be making a mark on a site like TripAdvisor is a major achievement for The House, Elegant Hotels, and Barbados as a whole and I really have to thank each member of my team for their assistance.”

Living Up to the Reputation of the Platinum Coast

The proof, as they say, is in the metaphorical pudding, and Steph and Christina were head over heels with The House at first sight:

One word that describes this hotel in my eyes is Beautiful. When we walked through the entrance of the hotel I was wowed by all the efforts they had taken with the Christmas decorations to make it look so classy. We were shown around a couple of the different room types at this intimate boutique hotel, and I was amazed at how spacious they were! They are all very modern and made me want to stay there forever! As this an adults only property the relaxation on offer is palpable everywhere.

Best of all, you can use all of the other Elegant Hotels facilities when staying at The House, a great bonus considering that Tamarind is only next door. At the end of the site inspection we had the privilege of sitting outside on plush chairs overlooking the Caribbean Sea, and I enjoyed what I can only describe as the best champagne cocktail I have ever tasted! The ambiance of this hotel was lovely and I really do hope that one day I return for a longer stay.

I had been to The House five years ago and was excited this time around to see the careful refurbishment and modernisation from which the hotel has benefited. The House impresses right from the unique entrance walkway into the property, and from there on in the feeling of excitement and uniqueness simply continues to build! The House has a friendly, warm vibe with a high level of service that just makes you feel immediately chilled out and at at ease. You could spend a few days here and forget all of your worries without even trying.

The rooms are impressive and the beach is stunningly immaculate. Beach ambassadors are at hand to help you with all your needs, and the hotel’s champagne breakfast is by far the best way to start the day. Having Daphne’s restaurant next door is ideal, and it is so lovely to know that you have some of the best restaurants on the island right on your doorstep. This hotel is like a dream, and fits my idea of heaven perfectly!

And finally I invite you to follow in our footsteps with some pictorial persuasion:
