Our Inspiring Island Safari

Our Barbados Island Safari, courtesy of the Barbados Tourism Authority, was a fantastic way of making the most of our time on one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful islands, made all the more enjoyable thanks to our guide – and now friend – Ian. The safari made a lasting impact on all of us, and we believe everyone will treasure this island adventure:

I had visited Barbados before but had never explored the different parishes. This tour takes you around the whole island in a 4×4 jeep, and you get to build up a thrilling, intimate perception of Barbados. The best part of this tour was the exciting off-roading in Joe’s River Forest, when all of us were in stitches laughing at each other as we were bouncing around! Ian was very good at his job thanks to his deep knowledge of his home island. He really did love his job, and he took his time to show us certain points of interest and historical significance, frequently accompanied by engaging tales of his life on the island.

You are taken to Cliff Edge on this safari, allowing you to take in the jaw-dropping views, and for the price of this tour I would 100% recommend taking this excursion. I always feel that if you have never visited a country then you should make the most of your time there and learn a bit of their history and culture, and the island safari is the perfect opportunity to do this! We even got to stop at Sugar Cane Club for lunch, which was delicious! My top tip? Opt for the rum punch! The very generous measures made the tour even more enjoyable!

What a brilliant day, completely made by our fantastic driver/tour guide Ian. It’s a great way to see the island in a fun, casual, yet informative way. This tour completely changed my perception of full day sightseeing excursions, offering a fantastic mix of history, scenery, and “off road fun”.

The Island Safari is ideal for groups, couples and individuals who want to immerse themselves in the true essence of Barbados, and offers something more meaningful than a tourist’s typical experience. You even have the opportunity to see parts of the island that are hidden gems off the beaten track! The guides are all local and not only have intimate botanical and historical knowledge, but also a flair for engaging with their passengers in uniquely rewarding ways.

Chris’ Top Tips! You’ll definitely need:

Camera – loads of stunning views and fascinating sights that you’ll want to treasure forever.
Sunscreen – the Caribbean sun is a beautiful force not to be underestimated.
A towel to sit on – some extra comfort for the journey through the forest.
Most of all, you’ll need to be relaxed, embrace your sense of humour, and participate in the whole experience.

This is my 3rd time to Barbados and I saw parts of the island on this safari I’d not witnessed previously. I’d recommend it for everyone from 1st time visitors to those who go twice a year every year!

And to top everything off, here are some of our favourite moments from the Island Safari:

Powerful Atlantic Ocean
Emergency Tanning Session
Max Overlooking Cliff Edge
The Parish of St Andrew
