Accommodation
During our stay at Excellence Punta Cana, we were accommodated in a Junior Suite, which was extremely spacious, even with two double beds! The rooms had a very traditional Caribbean feel with the dark wood on the roof, and pale wood on the furniture around the room. There was also plenty of storage space around the room with a very good size wardrobe. I would definitely say the rooms was of a 5* standard, especially with the double Jacuzzi which made it feel very luxurious.
Restaurants
During my stay, I visited the Pizzeria (Oregano) , we also visited the Steak House (The Grill) and the Italian (Toscana.) The best meals we had in resort were definitely the French restaurant (Chez Isabelle) , which we visited twice, and also the Asian Restaurant (Spice) which again we visited twice, and in these two restaurants we not only experienced delicious food, but excellence service. There was also great variety of food in all restaurants, to accommodate all dietary needs.
Entertainment
Day and Night, there was an action packed day for everybody if that what they prefer from their holiday, or for people who wish to keep it more relaxing there was yoga, and the spa looked beautiful. The evening entertainment was like visiting the theatre every night. The amount of effort that must go into Choreographing these shows is brilliant, especially the Tribute to Michael Jackson Show, which was definitely my favourite.
Service
I could not praise the staff enough for their service at the resort, the service was first class throughout! From the moment we walked through the lobby to check in, to the day that we checked out, we were always greeted by any staff member who saw us, which definitely made you feel very welcome, and I can see why so many clients return to this resort year after year.
Beach
Definitely a WOW Factor for me during my stay, as a person who usually spends every day of her holiday around the pool, I never spent 1 day around the pool at Excellence Punta Cana, every day was spent on the beach, and the reason why is it was the biggest white sandy beach I had ever seen, I truly could not believe the size of this beach, and I loved how it never once felt crowded, you could always find a quiet relaxing spot if that was what you prefer.
Overall
I would definitely say for a relaxing break this hotel ticks all the right boxes, I was lucky enough to stay here for 7 nights, and a lot of people say ” I would never travel that far for 7 nights ” however if you are looking for a complete chill out break, I would say it’s the perfect duration. Comparing this resort to Excellence Riviera which I stayed at last October, I think my preference would be Excellence Punta Cana, I loved the true Caribbean feel of the hotel, and I would say the staff were more interested in getting to know you as a person, rather than just a “hola” or “hello” they were happy to stop and make conversation with you, which again, made you feel very welcome at the resort. I would 100% say I would return to this resort, simply due to the fantastic food and again first class service.
