Kev enjoys immersing himself in local culture on his getaways so a holiday to Barbados was just the trick. He discovered that Sea Breeze Beach Hotel is a hot spot for being in reach of those top places to soak up that Bajan charm. Here Kev reveals his favourite spots and gives a little insight into Sea Breeze Beach Hotel.

What’s On?

I’ve visited Barbados many times and my getaway to Sea Breeze Beach Hotel would have to be up there as one of my favourites. Barbados is a fantastic island to explore and Sea Breeze Beach Hotel offers the perfect base camp for delving into that culture. Here are a few highlights from my getaway.

Mount Gay Rum Tour

Mount Gay Rum Tour

For all the rum fanatics like myself, a trip to the Mount Gay Rum Tour is a must. A mere 20 minute drive from Sea Breeze Beach Hotel, this is Barbados in a bottle. Pun intended. Mount Gay Rum is the world’s oldest rum and a tour will solve all the mysteries of rum making. And, of course, you get to taste the magic before being able to buy your own splash of rum for bottom dollar.

Jammin’ Sun Blast Catamaran Cruise

The Jammin’ Sun Blast Catamaran Cruise is a top excursion for fun lovers. It departs from the port of Bridgetown and takes you on a fun-filled five hour trip along the island’s west coast where you swim with the turtles, take a tour of a shipwreck which is home to the most colourful array of tropical fish and then a stop in a quiet bay for lunch and a spot of swimming. Perfection!  What’s more, the excursion kicks off just a mere 20 minute drive from Sea Breeze Beach Hotel. The transfers are included in the price of the package along with unlimited drinks from the well-stocked bar, including the famous Jammin’ rum punch!

Oistin’s Fish Fry

Oistin’s Fish Fry is one of the Barbados’ hottest attractions and each Friday it is visited by both tourists and locals alike. Everyone has the opportunity to sample the very best local food; fried and grilled fresh fish, fish cakes, sweet potato, macaroni pie and much more. The sounds of the island’s music make this such a memorable event. This is just a 20 minute walk from Sea Breeze Beach Hotel, or you can take one of the many  “reggae” buses for just one US Dollar.

Sea Breeze Beach Hotel

Sea Breeze Beach Hotel

So, what about Sea Breeze Beach Hotel? Sea Breeze Beach Hotel is set on two of the most beautiful beaches on the island. The crystal clear, turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea lap on to the shallow sloping, powdery-sanded beaches where there is an abundance of quality sun loungers for guests to catch that much treasured tan. For those Holidaymakers who prefer to avoid the sand, Sea Breeze Beach Hotel has two pools. One of these pools adults only and features some top-level sunbeds. They’re the kings of the sunbed world.

Sea Breeze Beach Hotel

Sea Breeze Beach Hotel is home to three high quality restaurants offering buffet and a la carte menus. The Azul restaurant was my favourite. It’s the hotel’s signature a la carte restaurant and has a beautiful setting overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The staff at Sea Breeze Beach Hotel are so friendly that by the end of our stay we knew all of their names and they knew ours too. It was all part of Sea Breeze Beach Hotel’s charm. This is a particularly good factor when it comes to keeping refreshed – the waiters soon get to know your favourite tipple and they are well skilled in making sure your glass is never empty. A big win!

Sea Breeze Beach Hotel is a gem in Barbados.
