The School of Hard Rock Tour: Hard Rock Hotel Cancun

11/12/2015Katie Brooks

Hard Rock Hotels are well known for their rock star vibe. They have graced holidaymakers all over with their unique resort atmosphere and holiday making prowess. We’ve been given an exclusive trip to take a closer look at the Hard Rock Hotels in Mexico and the Dominican Republic to get the low down.  Vic, Hayley, Christina and Phil are on their very own School of Hard Rock Tour, where they’re delving a little deeper into the Hard Rock way of holidaymaking. Their first stop? Hard Rock Hotel Cancun.

Here are their in-resort thoughts as they live the rock star lifestyle and uncover the latest scoop.

Hard Rock Hotel Cancun

An Inside Look

Welcome to Hard Rock, we have fun and games.

The entrance to Hard Rock Hotel Cancun is a feast for the eyes. The rock star vibe meets you on the guitar shaped driveway, but what else would you expect from a Hard Rock Hotel? We were greeted with eucalyptus scented iced face towels and were wooed by the rock star memorabilia that donned every surface. The resort was more intimate than we expected and we easily found our way around.

The lobby bar is a great hub for socialising and the staff go the whole way to make sure you have a top time. Hard Rock Hotel Cancun has a chilled-out ambiance complemented by a happy buzz and plenty of areas to escape. The beach is covered in soft white sand which goes on and on; you could walk for miles. We enjoyed a great early morning walk, watching the sun find its place in the sky. With loungers, Bali beds, and Cabanas dotted around there was no shortage of spaces to chill-out.

 Zen Restaurant

We dined at Zen restaurant on amazing teppanyaki. A warm welcome with a signature cocktail was a great sign of things to come. A great show, with a great chef! It was fun, interactive, and we all got involved. Phil even had his own slice of teppanyaki action taking the role of the chef. After the ooohs, aahhs and belly aching laughs, we dined on the delicious, fresh cuisine that had been made before our very eyes. A special theatrical show.

Fire Show

After our meal we went to watch the fire show. Another eye-wooing sight. There was a pop up bar serving fascinated spectators with their favourite tipple so you could get soaked up in the moment without letting your drink run dry. We can definitely recommend trying the mandarin vodka. Oh, and tequila. We’re in Mexico after all.

Riviera Cancun Golf Course

We took a tour of the Riviera Cancun Golf Course to see what the greens had to offer. We jumped on our personalised buggies, which comes as standard for those having a game, and went for a spin. The 72 par, 18 hole course provided great excitement even for the less keen golfers among us, not least because of the wildlife that could be spotted on the way around, including herons and crocodiles.

Each golf session is an additional charge, but holidaymakers from Hard Rock Hotel Cancun can use their resort credit to have a round. The cheeky bonus is that a round of golf comes with a cool box complete with lunch and drinks for en route. And if that’s not enough, there’s always a drinks cart driving by if you need a little extra watering to help your pick up your game.

Doing a Little Good

Hard Rock Hotel Cancun also likes to make sure they do a little good. They buy crafts from the local community and give them to customers as gifts during their stay. A big win for holidaymakers and the community alike! This good nature oozes out of the staff at Hard Rock Hotel Cancun who just make the resort a top place to be.
