Sea Breeze Beach Hotel – A Little Piece of Paradise

23/10/2014bayley

We love hearing your tales from the far flung corners of the Earth, especially when we’ve given a helping hand in an epic adventure. Clare Sturdee is one such Holidaymaker, who was moved to put pen to paper after staying at Sea Breach Beach Hotel in Barbados, chronicling the entire affair in all its sun-drenched glory. We, and the world at large, thank you Clare for wooing our eyes with your magnificent tale. Read on and feel the love:

Heading out

Waiting at Gatwick a rush of emotions come over me. I’m a nervous flyer, but knowing where my flight was headed made things so much easier. There’s really nothing to worry about at the end of the day.

I was off to sunny Barbados, my little island of paradise. The closer I got the more excited I became, and as we approached the island I excitedly peered out of my window, waiting to finally see those stunning turquoise waters that typify Barbados. Stepping out of the plane and having that rush of humid air hit my face felt amazing. I’ll never get tired of it.

On all of my trips to Barbados I never fail to notice the upbeat friendliness of the Bajans. They always make you feel at home! I was staying at Sea Breeze Beach Hotel, and I was mega excited as I’d heard so many great stories. After a 10min transfer with a wonderfully chatty driver I arrived at Sea Breeze, and what a welcome I received! Lovely smiley faces and the warmest welcome anyone could wish for – and let’s not forget the cocktail I had in-hand as soon as I stepped off the taxi! I do love a good cocktail. I was also offered nice refreshing face cloth to cool me down, which smelt of lush lemons, and its texture was absolutely divine.

Settling in

After a short chat with the receptionist I was shown to my room, an Ocean View Room, and what a room it was! Cool, comfortable, and just what I had imagined. But the balcony was my room’s best kept secret. The view before me was spectacular. I was stunned that little old me was surrounded by such beauty, and I was so excited I instantly took a picture of the view I’d be waking up too every morning and posted it on Facebook. The comments I got where of sheer amazement. Just see for yourself:

After taking in the sights from my room I decided to get changed into something a little bit more comfortable and have a wonder around. I took a walk through the grounds and down to the beach, and the sights, sounds, and smells where an absolute delight. I do like the feel of the sand between my toes and the lukewarm water lapping around my ankles. I couldn’t get enough! This hotel puts you in the perfect location, with the most spectacular views you can imagine.

An evening under the stars

After taking in all the sights and sounds I decided to go back to my room and get sorted for dinner, which had already been pre-booked for me by the wonderful staff. Dinner was a delight, and it was all served alongside the wonderful view, now in the light of the full moon. The brightness of the moon shining against the sea made the view even more amazing.

At breakfast I would always be greeted by friendly faces and a good morning. I always sat somewhere where I could just relax, and take in the glorious sunshine and sea air. So far this hotel was making a wonderful impression on me, and the wonderful comments and reviews I had read prior to going where spot on.

I was only visiting for a week, and I just wanted a week of no stress and lots of relaxation. Well I certainly got that. I’d grab a sun lounger by the pool or by the beach, and sit back with a cocktail in hand and not a care in the world. A few of the locals would come over for a chat, and what charmers they are! Everyone’s got to make a living right?

I enjoyed the entertainment, everything from singers to steel drums. There’s something about the steel drums that makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. It’s my favourite and I couldn’t get enough of this beautiful music.

The long hard goodbye

I spent the whole 7 nights inside the complex, and wouldn’t have wanted it any other way. Unfortunately, 7 nights just isn’t enough, and my stay had come to an end sooner than I wanted to leave. I could easily have stayed another 7 nights (and the rest). I’m sure many of you who have been to Barbados have the same experience when it comes to leaving. It’s always very emotional.

Sea Breeze Beach Hotel is stunning. I couldn’t have wished for a better holiday, and this was down to the wonderful staff. To name but one, Shelly was a complete sweetheart. I also loved the guys at the beach hut who tried desperately to get me out on a jetski (even though I was too chicken to do it)! Maybe next time… Marlon and Chesterfield were also a delight, both intrigued by my Irish accent! The staff make this hotel what it is, a little piece of paradise. I will definitely return.

Barbados is definitely one of the best holiday destinations I have ever been too. I am already itching to book again.

I just want to say a massive thank you to Blue Bay Travel for making this all possible. The staff there are just a delight to talk to, and they went out of their way to make sure I had the best holiday possible. I will definitely be booking with them again.

All in all I had the most amazing time and would recommend this hotel to everyone who is thinking of booking a holiday to Barbados. You won’t be disappointed!
