A Diver’s Paradise

Those wanting to explore the ocean surrounding Tobago will not be disappointed by what they find. Home to the largest brain coral in the world, Tobago offers a plethora of underwater sights from the little to the large and is a nirvana for diving enthusiasts and snorkelers alike.

A Festival for Every Occasion

With a party happening somewhere on the island, there’s always something going on in Tobago. One of our personal favourites is the Goat and Crab Racing Festival that occurs around Easter time, certainly a one-of-a-kind event. Another one to look out for is the Moriah Ole Time Wedding parade, part of the Tobago Heritage Festival in July where islanders don their most flamboyant wedding outfits and parade through the streets to plenty of pomp and splendour.

Where there is a party, you will no doubt hear the sounds of the most recently invented percussion instrument in the world. Finding its origins in Tobago, the steel pan drums are a common sights across the island and ring in every celebration.

Mouth-Watering Food

Unknown to many, Tobago also produces its very own brand of luxury chocolate, so don’t be surprised if you find a number of cocoa fields here during your stay. The Roti, curried goat or chicken, is also not to be missed and is a hand-made island speciality. The national dish of crab and dumplings should also be sampled during your stay and is easily found across the island.

One of a Kind Activities

Paddle board through Tobago’s waters at night and you will be treated to the ethereal sights of waters that seem to glow and sparkle with an otherworldly hue. Tobago is home to a special type of bio-luminescent plankton that gives the waves this magical effect. Those wanting to take a seat during the experience can take a kayak out for a spin instead to get up close and personal with this one-of-a-kind sight.
