Culture

Once a booming trade hub for Dutch merchants, Curaçao still carries markers of colonial past. The welcoming inhabitants represent a varied collection of over 55 cultures making for a colourful experience at the edge of the Caribbean. Be sure to witness the famous floating market of Los Barquitos where Venezualan sailors continue the 100-year-old tradition just past the only floating pedestrian pontoon bridge in the world.

Nature

Overflowing with entrancing nature, Curaçao is home to a number of natural sights. Head to the incredible preserve of Westpunt for eight hiking trails, cliff-jumping into the serene waters of Playa Knip, swimming with sea turtles at Playa Piskado and more.

Cuisine

A delicious mix of Dutch, Afro-Caribbean, Venezuelan and Indonesian, Curaçao's cuisine is a treat for the senses. Considered the signature dish of the nation, Keshi Yena is made up of a large ball of cheese stuffed with spiced meat, capers, onions, olives and tomatoes and baked. The traditional Dutch snack of bitterballen is also a popular dish whilst Oliebollen is the perfect sweet desert. Wash this all down with a taste of the traditional blue Curaçao Liqueur.
