There are excursions for divers of all ability levels: beginners can navigate Angel Reef, and more experienced divers can embark on drift dives at some of the island's most celebrated submarine locations including Japanese Gardens, London Bridge and Blackjack Hole.
Kayaking
The local environs of Batteaux Bay and the surrounding reefs make for fabulous kayaking excursions. Holidaymakers at Blue Waters Inn receive free access to kayaks, and the nearby Goat Island is a favourite destination.
From there you can snorkel atop the breathtaking Angel Reef and look back towards the hotel to enjoy the lay of the land.
Birdwatching*
More than 200 species of bird call Tobago home, making the island one of the go-to destinations for birdwatching. Blue Waters Inn is nestled among 46 acres of greenery, and regular avian residents include the blue-headed Mot Mot, the mischievous Bannaquit and the haughty Cocricos, Tobago's national bird.
The hotel is also situated opposite Little Tobago - also known as Bird of Paradise island. An established nature sanctuary that's flourished since 1909, and you can arrange a tour to this wonderfully sequestered bird heaven through the hotel.
*Please note: These birds are not captive species. As a result, their visibility at the resort or Little Tobago island is subject to seasonality.
